After much waiting for our Dr. who was trapped in surgery, we were finally allowed to escape last night around 8pm [at least we were behind the Friday night traffic]. It was a nice reunion with our home and bed and after a few meds, we were sound asleep and D slept the night through.
Getting out of and into bed has not been the painful challenge we expected although for now, it does take help for D to get out . Probably another day or two and she'll be on her own.
So here we are, ready for the next chapter. We have about four weeks of surgery recovery until the 12 weeks of 5 day/week radiation begins.
We are moving forward..

Can't believe how long it took to get released, but I know if you're on the receiving end with the surgeion, you want her to take all the time she needs. So glad you could both get some sleep last night which is one of the best ways to begin the heaing. You are both amazing with the way you have reacted with all this. Your dispositions and attitudes I know is what has made all the difference. Love you both so much and hope to see you briefly this wekend. Then the wild party begins next weekend :-)
